This is the only reference point for this story, an unnamed source from a Japanese paper. Anyone remember the" source" inside Mercedes that claimed bottas would be out during the summer break and russell in. Whilst conviniently cutting out the very observable evidence that mervedes have never once favoured in of their drivers with better equipment. This is the main issue I take, because people seem to believe russell won't be allowed to fight Hamilton, despite merc only stepping in with team orders late season when bottas was out of the race for the title. If russell has the pace to best Lewis, they won't stop him, if he doesn't, well I can imagine what the comments will be like from brain dead fans who think they're intelligent28-01-2022 17:00

Yes, I do believe they were given the same gear, and you actually provide a Decent bit of evidence whilst trying to say they didn't. The gap between the two drivers over one lap way typically very very small, but over a race distance, managing the tyres and putting in consistent laps Hamilton is simply better than bottas16-01-2022 12:03
